Acceptable Drop-Off Items

Only residents may drop-off items at the Chicopee Sanitary Landfill. Please note that a fee may apply. The following items may be dropped off:

• All items recycled curbside (view the Curbside Recyclable Items page for a full list)
• Christmas trees
• Fluorescent light bulbs, rechargeable batteries, Mercury-containing items (Hg)
• Grass, leaves, and brush (but not tree stumps or large tree butts)
• Mattresses and box springs
• Propane tanks and helium tanks
• Refrigerators, Air conditioning units, and dehumidifiers
• Scrap metal
• Televisions, computer monitors, and electronics
• Tires (cost of $1 off-rim or $3 with rim with Chicopee ID)
• Vehicle batteries
• Clothes, shoes, bed & table linens, curtains/draperies

Rigid Plastics

Rigid plastics for recycling disposal is not yet available at the landfill or at the curb as of September 5, 2017.
